Today co-host Dylan Dreyer is opening up about one of the most painful experiences of her life, revealing that she secretly endured a miscarriage while on vacation with family and friends because she felt unable to tell anyone what she was going through.

Speaking on her Parent Chat podcast with guests Nick Viall and Natalie Joy, Dreyer recalled discovering she was pregnant before joining a group vacation. Wanting to keep the pregnancy private, she said she spent the trip pretending to drink so no one would suspect she was expecting.

I’m surrounded by people. There’s literally no one I can talk to..

That same vacation took a heartbreaking turn when she began miscarrying.

Despite being surrounded by loved ones, Dreyer said she felt completely alone because no one knew she was pregnant. She remembered crying in bed while dealing with intense physical pain and wishing she could confide in someone.

The conversation also explored the stigma surrounding early pregnancy announcements. Nick Viall suggested that keeping pregnancies private can unintentionally leave parents feeling isolated if they experience a loss, a sentiment Dreyer said she strongly understood.

Dreyer went on to explain that after later discussing her symptoms with her doctor, she learned that scar tissue had caused her uterus to become scarred, leading to recurrent miscarriages.

Following treatment to remove the scar tissue, she was able to welcome two more children. She hopes sharing her experience encourages others facing similar struggles to seek medical advice and know they are not alone.
